Weymouth Carnival off to a cracking start

Oh dear. Weymouth's annual carnival, scheduled to start at 10.00am this morning with the crowning of the carnival king and queen followed by the Red Devils sky diving at 10.30am has not got off to a good start. It's been pouring with rain all morning and there was a big flash of lightning followed by a crack of thunder at 10:31. Looking out of my office window Weymouth beach has completely disappeared in low cloud. What a shame. It's supposed to clear up this afternoon and a Battle of Britain memorial flight and aerobatics are scheduled, but I'm not holding my breath.
